Heh ok off topic tangents here...
Yes Linux I prefer to remain free, however that doesnt mean that all the software for it should do so, in fact I would prefer to pay for good software on it. Before you start in on the open source etc, I am all in favor of open source, in fact that is one of the reasons I have not gotten cedega myself, not because it is closed source, but because it used open source code and I havent seen anything about them giving back to the makers of that code since they became cedega. To me that is different than just writing all your own code and keeping it closed source.
Personally one of the things holding linux back is the lack of software on it at times, games, multimedia etc. I do audio, would not trade in ardour on linux for anything when dealing with straight audio, same with Jack. But as I recently found out for decent video syncing I have to go with ProTools or some other similar software. I would have no problems with those software titles coming out for linux, I dont tihnk it would slow down the open source movement much if at all, and if anything some companies could benefit from that movement if done right, supporting both the open source and themselves by doing so. My own opinion of course, anyone else care to use this soapbox?
