laptop shuts off on battery power

hello,

i just recently bought a new a/c adaptor for my 5620. until then, i had not used my sager for about 4-5 months. it was working fine until a few days ago. when running on battery, it will run for about 15min. then the fans turn on to cool the system and thats when the notebook just shuts down. as if i was holding down the power button for a forced power off. the weird thing is, when i hit the power button to turn it back on, it will not. i have to plug the unit to the a/c adaptor and it will then turn on and be fine. the power level on the battery after it shuts down is about 75-80% full.

Could this be a battery issuie since it happens at the same time and requires me to plug the unit to the a/c apatpor to turn back on?

ok, so i plugged it in and started it up, while on the book up, i unplugged the a/c adaptor. used the a/c adaptor to "unlock it" and see if it would continue on battery power. it did not. it shut down like 30 seconds after i took it out. so i physically took the battery cell out of the laptop and put it back in after examing it for any strange markings etc. when i hit the power button, it started to boot up again but shut off again after 20-30 seconds again.

right now, according to the laptop, it has 83 percent of power still in the battery but it shuts down when it hits 80 or less. so i'm thinking it has to be the battery somehow.
