Yes, do you think you would be able to find out what processor it comes equipped with? In the user's manual it just says "turion 64 processor."

I hope that you'll manage to take lots of pics.

Thanks

Exactly where/what is "here" and why is it "here" (there)?

Great!

I'd appreciate it if you took some screenshots on it running CPU-Z, Central Brain Identifier and RMClock

And if you got time some then run AquaMark3, 3DMark01, 3DMark03, 3DMark05 & RealStorm Benchmark 2004 and post the results in this thread please.

Id like pricing, but I imagine you wont get that....

HoweverI did sell my thinkpad, so now the wait is on for the release so I can order it.

I am going to immediately replace the DDR333 Ram with Corsair DDR400, anyone want to buy the 1GB of DDR333?

Ok got a few pictures but I don't have a way of hosting it so some who can host is drop me a private message with a e-mail and I'll send the pic their way.
No chance to run anything other then booting it up and look at it as this thing just literally got dropped of at the Acer San jose office this morning. I'll try to get some benchmark info later. The one interesting thing is that it's using the 8100 series case (except with different color mold and a slot drive). That open up some interesting possibility (like ordering the external case and dropping everything from my 8104 in it :-)).

As far as CPU goes, the unit I looked at has a ML34 (1.8) but I was told that the shipping units may/should have a ML37.

Here the few pictures I took, quality is not that great as we were in a crowded restaurant.

Damn, that looks nice. I really don't like that curved keyboard on the travelmate/ferrari series though .

@Wiz33 - you have a travelmate 8104 right? Is the keyboard comfortable to type on?

I don't see how being a crowded restaurant makes it difficult to take pictures...

Just kidding!

Awesome pictures and thanks for the info. Is that a dead pixel on the car in the screen?

I don't really like the shape of the keyboard either. But that won't stop me from buying it!

Thanks a lot for the pics. I like the how the Ferrari 4000 is mostly black, mostly.

As for the dead pixel I didn't notice any but the screen was a bit dusty

I don't really use my laptop keyboard that often (it's on a KVM to external KB and Mouse) except when I travel. The few times that I used it I did make some typos but you do get used to it after a bit.

I do like the new lid, it's doesn't scream "look at me" like the older designs and the Carbon fiber portion looks good. I may just order the lid and put it on my 8104 ;-)

Sorry, no idea on price as I don't know any of the marketing people.

No. I don't work for Acer but do have a friend that works there and he was nice enough to bring it to lunch with him so I can take a peek.

UPDATE INFO AND BENCHMARK FOLLOWS:

The test units have the ML34 1.6G CPU but the production unit should have at least a ML34 1.8G

The unit is getting the following score wit hteh 1.6G CPU

3DMark03 6503
3DMark05 2471

This looks great as they are already faster than my 8104 (3DMark05 2285). So the production unit should be just a bit faster still.

Although they have not run any battery benchmark but since it uses the same battery as the 8100series, they do expect endurance to be less than that of the 8100
