Network interface - Inspiron 9300 - Debian

Hi,
...when I am installing Debian he wouldn't find my network card, which is [430-0493] BroadCom 440x 10/100 from Dell.
Any idea where I could find the correct driver or other tips?
I am pretty new with Linux... any help would be very much appreciated.

...when I start the installation of Sarge with the 2.6 Kernel, the card is being found, BUT when arriving at partitioning the disk I get: "No partitionable media were found"

Partitioning is no problem under 2.4

I didn't battle the debian distro on my laptop I chose ubuntu hoary on kernel 2.6.10-5.686 and it worked out of the box so I cant exactly help you. When performing a "dmesg | grep Ethernet" I get a return of:
PHP Code:
eth0: Broadcom 4400 10/100BaseT Ethernet
maybe that helps? Just as an afterthought, did you already configure your card for static/dynamic ip subnet etc?

...the card works fine by now.
When installing in the "expert"-mode he finds the card. No problem.
I actually wonder why that is, though... -- I mean why he wouldn't find it in the normal mode...

@Sketus: I am not really done yet... and I am rather a newbie regarding linux... -- But feel free to contact me when you encounter problems... -> volkito gmail
