Have you made sure that both are enabled by pressing Fn+F11 and Fn+F12?

If so, what are the exact problems you are experiencing?

both are not enabled. i have had some success in leaving only the LAN on. when i leave only lan on, i can connect to an access point sometimes, but it drops down to its slowest speed then disconnects.

also: when i use the internal card, windows usually does not see any networks available, however, the external card sees everything. sometimes windows will see a network on the internal, but if i try to connect, it fails to connect, or connects and drops to 1mbps

It sounds like your antenna may have been accidentally connected to the Aux port instead of the main. Do you know how to remove the keyboard and metal plate to access the Mini-PCI card for WLan/Bluetooth? It is the slot on the right. You will see both a bluetooth and WLan antenna going to the card. On the bottom, you will see two connectors for the WLan. Make sure that antenna is not in Aux, but rather in Main.

Hope this helps.

no, can you give me some pointers on doing so?
