Well, had the beast for 2 days now, and time to start the tweaking!

fx55, 2 gigs ram, SINGLE 6800GT,

initial benchies:

3d Mark 5035
CPU 4290

Nothing tweaked, except slight overclock of video card...

so, do those numbers suck, or should I be happy with them, with my hardware..

Go ahead, fire away at me!

I think thats a decent score for a GT card , almost as high as my Ultra

A little tweaking and you'll beat my score (I don't OC)

thanks OD; I dont want to mess with alot of settings, unless it will make a major difference..
I went into NTune, and tweaked for performance; this machine gets used for other things besides games, so I want a balance between performance and graphic response..

you can get a lot better scores w/ some tweaking...

1st. go to bios disable cool n quiet
2nd. DL coolbits and you will be able to enable all the locked options of your GT
3rd. Run coolbits (right click) disable vertical sync, put AA off and AF off, put everything from quality to performance
4th. go to run: msconfig
-go to start up and disable all those apps
-restart and cancel out that initial window
-run 3dmark05 and you will see a significant boost in performance

ok you should be up at least 500 pts from that alone...as far as OCing, do so at your own disgression...key is to take things slow and test...check temps, artifacts etc.

As some of you may know, I have been trying to break 10 000 3DMark05 points and I finally did it.......but I cheated.....lolololol

It was a cold and windy night, so I opened the case-side and sat outside and got 10 249!

Soooo, the rather obvious conclusion that I reached after this rather interesting developement is that I should move back to Canada, where it's much colder outside!

LOLOLOL, nah, it'll be cheaper just to research a better cooling solution that I currently have, and MJ? I'm not water-cooling! Maybe a better fan/heatsink combo or even Peltier, but that's a whole 'nother lot of issues....

You can use fluids that are non-conductive don't be afraid Red - get you feet wet.
