When I bought it from best buy the guy asked me if I want a tech to come out and install it and do all that lpus encrypt my network for $150
Now I didnt want to spend that much because Im sure I can figure out or ask someone how to do it. Now I'm wondering if anyone of you guys knows how to do that or where I can find out how to do it? OR best ways to keep my system safe?
Thanks

Don't use encryption, just filter mac.

I agree, the information you received with the router and the card will help with anything you need to do. It takes time and patients to get it to work properly. Here is a website that may help if you have detailed quesitons which is broadbandreports dot com. You can use filter mac, but you also have to not broadcast your SSID, and use static ip assigning if you do not want to use encryption. Remember any encryption will decrease your wireless network performance by about 20-30%, so keep that in mind when you do encryption of any type. If you do want to use encryption make sure you use WPA and not WEP because WEP is extremly easy to crack at this time. Basically the more encryption you use the less overall performance on your wireless network. Good luck

PS. sorry forgot this, make sure you do the firmware update/upgrade before you start with the setup because the new update/upgrade will ensure you are able to use WPA encryptions
