HI all,
Once again I am here trying to gather the experience of other users regarding the "adorable" sound card that comes with our laptop.
As many of you might know, the sound card is capable of 5.1 sound, but behaves quite weirdly when doing so.
Today another oddity of this sound card happened:
As we all know, this model has 4 speakers. However, if you enable the 5.1 sound in the control panel, the sound will NOT work in each speaker. It is like having two FRONT speakers and no rear speakers.
I always wondered: "how come Clevo engineers (and realtek as well) could put 4 speakers + subwoofer and DO NOT make it 5.1 sound?" I always thought it had something to do with the wiring and consequently no driver would solve it
A few days ago realtek release a new driver and I installed it.
BINGO!! To my surprise, after installing the new driver, I went to control panel to see if there was anything different and to my pleasure when I tested the speaker configuration (by clicking in the speakers in the tab Speaker test of the control panel thing) the Front sound would come from the speakers closer to the screen and the rear sound would come from the speakers in the front of the laptop, near the headphone jacks.
Then came the oddity: I clicked in the tab "Speaker Configuration" then went back to "Speaker test" (I didn't change anything, just clicked out of curiosity) and BAM: the frontal speakers won't work anymore.... When I click in the "hear" speakers I get not sound. They will just work if I plug a headphone in the "line in" jack.
So, anyone has any idea how to make it work? I heard something about disabling windows' audio service.... I tried and the sound itself works but not very well.
Any help will be apreciated.
Thanks
