Well, just got an automated telephone call from Dell saying my order has been delayed (no sh*t).

The funny thing is that they "dropped off" the estimated delivery date "we are unable to ship on or before - thank you for doing business with dell"

Anyone get this message as well ?

I got the call today as well. They gave me an estimated date of June 10th. Funny thing is that one of the guys in my department received his over a week ago. (SAME CONFIGURATION) I have gotten emails stating free overnight shipping upgrade and an accessory of my choice from the website for up to $60...but realistically all I want is my order to be complete .

Hold up still remains with the hard drives. The 100GB 72K drive is what is stalling my order. One rep also stated that there was a slight backorder on the Ultra cards as well, but that has thus been taken care of.

So who knows.

This gets a laugh out of me everytime I see it though. Here is my order details from the website:

Well I did get an 800 number on my caller ID. Wasn't able to answer it, probably Dell. "Dude your not getting your Dell!" I'm going to check my e-mail, I figured that today would be the day it would get extended. We'll see if they offer me anything as well. Your screen looks just like mine as well.

The phone number that they are calling from and you have to call back to is 877-868-3355. The person answers the phone with:

"Order Number Please."
"Would you like to cancel your order."

I think that is all that the number is used for. Interesting enough, I have not received an email. But I am sure I will get the automated one on Friday since the secondary ship date was the 3rd.

I'm starting to think that they really F'd up by offering the 35% off coupon on this system then figured that if they delay orders that people would cancel them.

I am gonna have to agree that we "probably" won't see another 35% off coupon that is good for the XPS's for quite some time. For $2700 I got a $4k+ system after fully configuring it. Although if you think about it, the 35% coupon was good for the first 3000 orders (I think it was 3K, maybe 6K?). So it is not like it was a HUGE amount of laptops. And not all of those orders were for the XPS G2.

That is interesting. I did call the number and basically it seems thats what its for. If your not going to cancel your order don't bother calling it. I hope she hit the right key, because if she cancels it I'm going to freak.

way to go blinky, I guess there is still hope. I have'nt recieved any indication that it will be delayed a second time, so I'm still hoping to recieve a shipped notice tomarrow for a friday delivery.

Ordered on 5/11. It was 5/19->5/26->6/3. I didn't get a tracking number, though. Just says it was shipped on their website. It also went right from "InProduction" to "Shipped." There was no kitting, testing, or boxing.

I ordered on the 11th as well. Basically stuck at 5/26 until last week, then 6/3 on last update.

I just got an email from the Tech Support queue. My order is now delayed til the 17th.

27th --> 3rd --> 10th --> 17th.

You didn't get the Bluetooth did you.....so that rules out what one tech told me the other day. Looks like it is back to the drive...which is what I suspected all along.

Yeah, I'm still stuck on the drive as well. Should start a new thread to see who order what drive and if or when they got their system yet.
