When I originally ordered, I forgot Bluetooth. When I called a live sales rep later that day (on the 12th), he added Bluetooth but had to cancel my order and reinstate it. That's what moved my ship date back.
Any suggestions on dealing with Dell and evoking their sympathy on the vacation issue??

Forget Chat. You have to
email Customer Service and bitch. If you add chat transcripts that you've been through I'm sure it helps.
Also, tell them that you are going on vacation, with exact date, where, etc and believe me, if you made your order on the 11th or 12th they will upgrade your shipping. They will probably give you coupons too.
What a joke, I ordered mine on the 11th and it came the 17th.
