Hmmm....I was wondering because you use chmod to change a users rights, to change accessibility for a file etc. I thought it had "multiple" uses...

gs, you've got a LOT to learn (and I don't mean that rudely). The permissions system of UNIX is one of its great strengths...

you can make a file executeable with chmod, that'd be chmod +x No offense GS but you are a newb. I'm impressed that you have stuck it out and done as well as you have. keep it up and we'll soon be asking for your advice.

But the damned game still doesnt work...

I have xqf and qstat25c and et and pb and everything...game runs...no servers!!!!

xqf doesnt find me any servers either...gives me a "at least qstat 2.4e is required" but I have 2.5c!!!

Damn...by now i'd be chucking grenades and shooting heads in BF1942

HELP!!!

Enemy Territory is installed and working - I just cant see any servers and cant connect to ip addresses (I dunno if those are still valid though...) Can someone host a game and gimme an ip address - JUST for a short time to check...tell me when you're starting the game and gimme an ip address and I will connect at that time...just to see if I can join

I would if I could, but I can't host from here (firewall). Send me email directly and I'll help you get a live IP.
