Hi guys,
The duty is no problem if you declare it as a gift right? That's what I did with my sony DSC-T3 from HK. Hope it'll work with this one also.

OMG, I think I am desperate for a X50. Nanaki, are you still interested in $300 commission?? Dynamism just refused to accept paypal for computer order

Anyone here is in UK and can help me out here???? I want model X50 HWC760 so bad. Please pm me or email me at popophobia@sbcglobal.net

ps: if you are thinking I am a fraud or something, think again, I have good ebay account and been around this forums for almost a year.

Do you know what is the most reliable place to purchase a laptop in UK online or in store? I have relative there, so might ask him to get it for me and ship it as a gift.

also, I am curious how warm does it get and what about the fan is it loud at all?

Shipping things as a gift might still get you custom taxes. I know here in Australia you still get 10% GST when it is shipped as a gift.

LOL, that's what happened to me when I see the listing on ebay. But the problem is the version on ebay does not have WSXGA! I am so getting it, damn, so getting it. but how

already e-mailed my relative to see how we can work this out...

btw, dynamism is totally overpriced! ebay is even cheaper...

I checked with the guy on ebay (shinazinc), I think it is a misleading product. If you can confirm with your relatives, can you ask for me one also? I can paypal you back with $300 extra (much better still with my plan on going with dynamism). However, the one that I am aiming for goes up to $3000 anyway in UK (after VAT). I can bare it :-ss, just for the shake of X50

ps: the version in UK is the best as far as I know, they come with full specs WSXGA, bluetooth and a/b/g wireless (the HWC760 version)

3k? the top of the line is E1700 after Vat which is roughly 2200k. which one are you looking at?

As far as ordering extra, I don't even know if I can get one for myself yet.

Dreamer2go can you tell us about the noise and heat on this lappy?

This is the version you want to get
Samsung X50 HWM 760 Pentium M 2.0Ghz

The other only have 1.7 Ghz and WXGA screen and 64mb X600. I meant, the other one is the best so far, but if you can live with that, you found the deal.

As for the extra, never mind about it. nakati is already on it. Hope he can find me some deal.

Samsung X50 HWM 760 Pentium M 2.0Ghz sells for E1,722 including VAT

1722 pounds ~~ 3000 USD, quite a price for the laptop!!! 100 shipping, duty (said to be 000) ~~> 3200 USD for the baby !!!

Thread Starter
The fan is located at the left side of the laptop...
when I play games like CS:S, that stresses both CPU and GPU, the fan heats up...
you can touch it, but it won't burn you....
the memory bay also heats up...

just think of it as dipping your hands to some warm water....

thanks for reply! what about noise?

btw I just noticed your sig and I think yours has only 64MB, I've seen 2 models and only the top of the line has 128MB
post #58 of 162
The X25 comes with an X700, but it isn't widescreen. If only the X50 had the X700. *sob*

Now this website says that it does come with the X700? *sigh* This is very confusing: http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...1&id=1564&pg=2

Claimed as the world's thinnest and lightest 15.4-inch widescreen entertainment notebook, the X50 weighs just 2.41kg in spite of all the functionalities it boasts. RRP is set at S$3,799.
What does it mean???? Where can get it for 3799 ??? Dont tell me its dynamism, it's not official

ps: I think the specs are confusing because samsung releases different models in different countries.

WXGA+ = 1680x1050
