Does anyone own a HP Pavilion zd8185EA? I am looking into purchasing a laptop (i live in the UK) and came across this very impressive looking one. I plan to use it mainly for making DVDs and playing games (and of course doing college work on :P) and have a budget of £1300... I was really drawn to this notebook because it has, i believe, one of the new P4s with a 2mb cache and 64 bit enabled (correct me if I am wrong) I am a pretty serious gamer and the ATI X600 isn't quite what I would like but I prefer console gaming anyway and with 256 mb of VRAM would this be ok for running most current and future games? I'm not crazy about first person shooters and prefer rpg's and 3rd person action adventure games along with sports sims. I was previously sold on the Dell i9300 (PM 1.86, Geforce Go 6800 256, 1024 ddr2 533mhz ram.. etc. etc.) but would have to get something along those lines from the outlet page.. I was just wondering if someone could highlight the main differences I would experience using both of these systems.. and the extent to which gaming would suffer at the hands of a mid-range GPU despite having a lot of memory.. anyway here is the system:
