Questions about Upgrading My RAM in My zv6000

Currently I have 2 - 256MB SODIMMs, I would like to get at least 1GB. My question is what ram to I get. I was looking at some Corsair ValueSelect PC2700, and PC3200. And I was also looking at Corsair XMS PC2700, and PC3200. Do I need to get PC2700 or can I get PC3200? Is there any performance difference in the PC3200 over the PC2700?

I have the Presario R4012US, I think these are the same notebooks. Bought 1 gig stik of ram at newegg.com and it wouldnt work. Sent it back. Only www.kingston.com and memoryx.net/dc809b.html, say they have guaranteed compatible ram. It looks like the cheap stuff won't work. I sent back the $124.00 1 gig KTI ram from new egg. Purchased it from memory x. Try both web sites and read up.

Has anyone bought any additional Memory for their zv6000/r4000 notebooks? If so what kind works. I want to get an additional 1GB.

Corsair is by far the best for this series.

Corsair is the best company.

I spoke to a Corsair support guy (in their forum) about upgrading my RAM (lappy specs below), and he said that XMS will not work mixed w/ stock RAM (in my case, Samsung).

Also, you should get DDR333 (PC2700), if you get DDR400 (PC3200) I think it'lll just down clock and operate @ the speed of DDR333...

I got a 1GB module of Corsair System Selet 20-pin DDR333 PC2700 SODIMM (CMSS1GB-333SOD), and it works great (bought it from Zip Zoom Fly for $169, NewEgg didn't have it )
(System Select is able to work w/ stock RAM, I don't know about Value Select)

I think I might get the Corsair 1GB then.

everyone thinks Corsair is the best memory... they have the best support what what it comes down to is what chips they use on the memory, there are other brands that use the same chips and sale the memory for a HECK of a lot less...

Not true, IF you remove the stock RAM (pc2700), & THEN add in pc3200..your system memory WILL in deed run at 400MHz.

I order a 1GB Corsair SS PC2700 DIMM from ZipZoomFly last night. I should get it in a couple days.

I'm very well aware of that, but thanks...

My point was hopefully soon HP will enable this particular configuration to run in dual-channel...
