Why selling the ridiculous wxga when people can have the wsxga on this laptop.

And they sell it with azalia audio.

This unit is not available in the US. Like many ODM's, they provide different models for different regions.. The KN1A is not available in the US, the US only has the KN1C models available. The HW1 and MW1 models will have the WSXGA capabilities

I did, and I'm gonna try selling it. Anybody interested?

PM 1,73 GHz, 2x512 DDR2 533MHz, 6o/7200 Hitachi, XP Pro...
1280x800@GF6600, DVD/RW

3Dmark05 (if my memory is good enough): 2221
3Dmark01se: almost 15000

Edit:
"My memory" refers to the one in my head...
Wow thats an impressive 3dmark05 score... just might be able to swing me from the z71v since I don't care much for wsxga. The heat however might be an issue.

What is stocked setting? For 2221 it has to be over 300 core and 600 memory. Is that over clocked.

This is Asus Z71V
Using XG 77.62-HD Type 2 nVidia Driver v77.62
3DMark05: 1820 (Stocked Setting)
3DMark05: 2074 (300/500 OC Setting)
3DMark05: 2169 (290/575 OC Setting)
3DMark05: 2215(300/600 OC Setting)

I would think so... since hes getting heat issues... but lets wait for his answer.

Can ISTNC comment on anything about the heat issue? It seems to have popped up in numerous reviews of the unit

I wonder if that is because stocked nvidia go 6600 on this machine is actually overclocked. With the 3DMark05 he post above, that would mean the GPU should be around 300ish and memory should be around 600ish, give or take.

That would produce a good amount of heat. But then again on the Z71V, that heat still isn't too bad yet.

We havent experienced any heat issues with the KN1C-PM models, we had seen some heat issues with the older model KN1-PM's but that has since been resolved by Quanta.
We havent been able to test the new HW1 or MW1 Quanta units because they have yet to arrive, so thermals on those units are not yet known.

Interesting, haven't heard anything about KN1C-PM until now. That should be good news for the HW1 then

Yeah, let's wait for me.

*here now*

- Woa, there he is!

I haven't done any overclocking myself, that's for sure. The reseller mailed me yesterday and he said the heat thing was the same for all ex' of this model. If you'd like the exact values for the 6600 you'll have to wait some more... don't have it here yet.

Yes, it is a revamped model to some degree. The " C " models actually support a Portbar, which the older models did not. Also, the C model has had some architecture changes performed on it.
The KN1C-PM models have been the preferred model of Corp clients that do lots of CAD work, or other types of design work. Under intense CPU useage, the KN1C-PM delivers no more heat than a Z71V or Z70V.
