Refurb Now to find somebody to install it . I'm a little disapointed that its not new.

Do they usually ship new ones or Refurbs ?

They are marked REFURB to protect themselves in a lawsuit - all this started with the Packard-Bell fiasco in the early nineties (I THINK) but many people hear believe they are new parts.

How do you refurb an LCD anyway? Can they really replace SOME of those little millions of diodes? I think not.

If they do refurb anything it would be part of the power coupling cable (ie so what.) I would not worry about it.

Does anyone know the times of Dells service calls ? For example can I have a tech come out after 5pm ?

you have to talk to the individual tech. just schedule a service call with tech support and then the tech who dell outsources to will call you to setup a time.
