AGP Texture Acceleration (7405GX) - Page 2

Ok, i installed winxp pro, then immediately downloaded firefox, downloaded the hyperion 5.00a drivers from www.guru3d.com. I installed it, restarted. So far so good. Then installed the 5.5 catalysts with the mobile hack. Restarted, no go. Here is a screenshot of the driver that the hyperion file installed:

You know, when I installed the driver, it said that the driver version would be this:
VIA AGP Driver 4.43H - 2005/05/09

That's what it says on the install list, here:

Anyone have any answers? Perhaps someone out there has an AGP controller driver with a later date, and could point me to what file to download/install?

Download the newest Hyperions from VIA's website and see if that makes a difference.

5.00 is the latest, however it is intended primarily for RAID boards. The 4.56 is still the recommended version for non-raid setups.

Here is what i have tried, with no luck:

guru3d VIA Hyperion 5.00a's. Same as the VIA ones, just from guru3d's site.
VIA HyperionPro 5.00a's. (only installed the AGP controller on that)
VIA Hyperion v451v
VIA Hyperion v456v

Same effect. Every time. I install the AGP controller, then install GPU (5.5 cats right from ATI's site) and it has the exact same effect, every single time, with each driver i try.

My last idea is to install windows using my gateway restore DVD, to get the computer back to how it was when I purchased it. Perhaps...maybe, just perhaps, it would work just the way i want it to then...
