Less then a year old. It has served me more then well over the last year, and has been babied. If it left my desk, it was in the case. The case is a dell executive ($70 new) and I'll throw it in with the computer. I have windows xp and linux installed, and both are working great. To go with linux, I added the mother of all laptop hard drives. It's a 60GB 7200rpm hard drive. It really makes a huge difference with data transfer. It has 512mb of memory, a 24x CDRW/DVD combo drive, a 1.5ghz pentium M processor, an intel 2200BG wireless card (currently on the fritz), a 15.4" wide screen, a great battery (I've gotten over 5 hours out of it before, amazing for a laptop, let alone one this powerful), and I'm going to throw in the stock hard drive that I put into a USB case so it can be used as an external drive. I'll even keep all 2800+ songs on it in itunes. I have firefox loaded, and it is virus free. The only reason I'm selling is because I am getting a laptop for my new job. I payed over $1500 for this last june, and it still costs that much from dell now. It works great as a desktop replacement. The only options this thing doesn't have is the upgraded graphics card (128mb) and loaded memory. Either can be easily added. Everything is easy to get to with access panels on the bottom.
For the wireless card, www.newegg.com has replacement intel cards for under $35 shipped. I was dumb and payed more then that on ebay, and the card crapped out on me within 6 months. Get it from newegg and you can send it back if it's bad. They are super easy to put in, if you don't mind waiting the few extra days, I'll throw one in for you. Comes with all original software (new dells don't come with the driver CD's anymore, gotta download them and burn them yourself), linux, and some other programs loaded on. The hard drive is partitioned so that you can store all your important documents in one part, and the OS in another. If the OS crashes, your data is untouched. Ebay is oversaturated with people selling junk, so it didn't sell for me. I'm asking $1000 for it, and I'll install a new wireless card for you. I'll even throw shipping in there for ya.
