So yeah, im looking to buy a 9300 this weekend using the Home website. and i was wondering cuz the 750 off is a good deal. But who has gotten a better deal than $750 off whilst calling Dell over the phone?

btw anyone know when the 35% might come rolling around?

I don't see another 35% coming around soon, it seems they're still buried from the last one.

When I ordered from Dell Canada, there was supposed to be a free DVD Burner upgrade on all notebooks.
However, when I phoned to order, the guy said that the DVD burner free upgrade didn't apply to the XPS 2 because he was giving me a free Graphics Card (which I think is silly, becuase It is the only card available on teh XPS 2). However, I asked him about this a few times, as I wasn't making any connection between the DVD Burner and the GPU.

SO, finally, I asked him "Is there anything else you can do for me within your jurisdiction because I'm such a nice Canadian customer?" and he gave me the free DVD Burner!

So, in a way, this really wasn't a better deal than what I thought was on the web, but I did manage to get a free upgrade on the phone that I wouldn't have normally gotten.

Also, I emailed Dell regarding the insane price jumps between the 2.0 and 2.13 GHz PMs and the 1 GB vs. 2 GB RAM, and they emailed me back with a phone number and said "I'll be able to work out a great deal".

Bottom Line: THey will bend to make the customer happy.

Yeah, during the 20% off promo on the XPS, I rang and asked for the CPU to be downgraded to the 2 Ghz from the 2.13 Ghz and saved myself $150. They didn;t want to offer it to me, but hte price was on the brink of what I was willing to pay. I would rather spend the money on some memory.

When they offered the 30% discount trought epp, so that you had an aditional 12% discount, I was having some problems ordering online, so i called dell, and to my surprise, i saved an aditional 12% to the 30% + 12%.

Actually ...

Acutally, I just got off the phone, ordering my Dell XPS Gen 2!!!

The total came out to about 3,502.07. Online, the same thing was around 400 dollars more expensive.

Wow. Bragging and being informative in the same post. Go me!
