Options for internet from anywhere?

Using cell phones to be as a modem for a laptop? What's the best options? Can you still talk on the phone while using them?

I just got the Motorola M1100 put out by Nextel. I've barely had time to mess with it, but it looks to be really slow. After I've had a chance to use it more, I'll post my thoughts on it.

$350 for a card + monthly fee = ouch.

Although it would be very convinient if your on road alot. Or you can always try 'wardriving'.

Yeah, I guess if you need it. For the bandwidth you get it's a crazy price though, like when car phones first came out. Let us know how it works pctorque.

I heard Verizon's Vision access is now $40 a month for unlimited access and comes with a fair amount of cell minutes too. Speeds should be in the 75kbps range, about double that of 56k. No idea what ping times are though, if you want to game
