Help me choose ! WXGA OR WSXGA ? Choosing between 2 acer's with x700 .

So I'm considering between two acer's , both have x700 128mb which is awesome. I'll give you website address (it's on polish website) but you will be able to read specs.But first one(cheaper) has wxga , and the other has wsxga(more expensive) . The diference is about to pay 2x much for WSXGA, gigabit ethernet , 100gig hard drive.

4604WLMi wxga(cheaper one) - http://www.notebooki.pl/notebook/pokaz/490/ - (about 1700$)

TravelMate 8104 wsxga(more expensive) - http://www.notebooki.pl/notebook/pokaz/169/ - (about 3500$)

what do you think about performance and what should get ? I'm more for the cheaper one but wsxga keeps me from choosing. Oh and another question does this cheaper one has the curve on the keyboard or not ?

Just echoing what ScubaSteve and Wiz have to say: 4604!!! With that price difference, you could buy a second external monitor... Heck, you could buy TWO external monitors and still have money left over.

Ask yourself if you really, really need to have WSXGA+ when you're on the road or travelling. If you don't, then the 4604 with a second monitor plus all that left over cash would be an incredible setup.

I wish I had your problem - we don't have the 4604 in Canada, just the 4650 with integrated graphics.

The prices in USD are not exactly correct - you listed the price without VAT for the 4600 and with VAT for the 8100. The correct would be:
for the 4604 1700$ or 2100$ with VAT
for the 8100 2800$ or 3500$ with VAT

The prices here suck so bad... I mean - for the price of an 8104 you can get almost two 4604's

in denmark those two units cost respectively.

4604wlmi 2137$
8104wlmi 2945$

(inc vat)
i just bought the 8103 wlmi for 2263$, figured the cost didn't make up for the better hw of a 8104.

in your case, if you dont mind the smaller resolution of the display, definetely go for the 4604. or go with a 8103 ? has that crossed your mind ?
