4791 Processor / FSB trouble

I have been using a sager 4791 for a few months now for gaming and school and as you all probably know when not running on a/c the processor speed is reduced. I have a p4 3.0ghz 800mhz fsb processor and windows reports this as my processor speed on a/c. When i ran off battery it would reduce to like 1.5 or something but now suddenly it is stuck as reporting 4.0ghz running at 1.5ghz which makes my laptop total crap for gaming. Also it no longer boots up normally on battery power. it just hangs up right before windows loads. If the power cord is unplugged the whole computer freezes. Ive sent an email to sager but still no response so before i make the long distance call to them i was hoping maybe someone here could give me a hand. Also I've tried using a processor tool from intel to see the fsb and ive noticed that it is stuck at 400mhz fsb when its normally 800. I have no way of changing this since the bios does not allow fsb to adjusted. I have tried a reinstall of windows just incase it was due to drivers or something weird but no luck. The boot screen at start also reports it as a 4.0 ghz processor when i only have a 3.0

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Out of curiosity; do you run SP2 on your 4791? After updating to SP2 I'm having a bit of a problem myself with my Clevo which seems to be the same unit as Sager np4791, just re-branded.

Also, would you be kind enough to report your bios version? Thanks in advance!

Yes im running SP2. Ive had problems with sp2 and an older sager i had before it was stolen. Bios is PhoenixBios 4 Release 6 Rev 1.09.04. I would like to do an update if there is one but unfortunately sager's toll free number has not been working for me from Canada and they require you to call for bios updates .

I've been toying with running vista, and a couple ditros of linux to see if the problem is OS related and it isnt. I just reinstalled xp pro now without sp2 to see how it runs however it seems to have the same problem. I wish i could get a bios update from sager...
