i have got the dell inspiron 6000D with the ati x300 video card.....was wondering what games i can play with this video card....am new to pc games....and was also wondering if i can update the card to a 256mb or will it only handel a 128mb.....thxs
You can play any game that is on the market. It won't be the best experience because it's only the x300, but it will be okay. As for upgrading, I don't think it can be done on the 6000. I think the 6000's card is soldered to the motherboard, and therefore, it cannot be upgraded. I'm not positive on that, though.
almost any game on the market with low - mid settings on the newer games. and no, the video card isn't soldiered on the board but you can't update to 256mb cause there are no x300 256mb cards for the 6000
you should be able to have 256 mb of vram if you really wanted to by getting a 128mb x300 and then using an addition 128mb of shared memory. Or at least I think this is possible. However, the increase in performance most likely won't be too much so it's not worth losing 128mb of system ram.
