BigSmoke, I highly recommend the inspiron 9300, its about the same price as configured for a 6000 but offers you two extra usb ports, a dvi and vga port, a 17 inch screen and most importantly, the 6800go nvidia 256 meg video card that can play any current games which cannot be said of the 6000 which only comes with a 128 meg card.
I looked at both models and only a 70 dollar difference between the two, I am very happy with my purchase, the 9300 isnt big and heavy like everyone who doesnt have one always says, I carry mine to work in addition to my briefcase all the time.
The 6000 is not likely to get any kind of video card upgrade and furthermore cannot handle a much more powerful card as the case of the 6000 only has one cooling fan its not designed to handle a much better card like an x700 or 6800 go card. You are much better off with a 9300 which also by the way, offers an ultrasharp screen on its WXGA resolution which is not available on the 6000.
The 6000 while perhaps adequate for your current needs, cannot handle all gaming requirements of todays games and certainly not six months down the road, the 9300 on the other hand for about the same price, CAN, its a no brainer my friend. Ask any 9300 owners out there.
