Acer TM8104 Laptop Accessories and Recovery CD issues

The freaking recovery cd suxx big time.. its basically and image disc supposed to recover your image to your HDD..
i had changed from the 80GB 5400rpm hdd to a 60GB 7200rpm hdd and tried to use the recovery CD and it would not work.. anyone have a work around this???

And yah btw i'm from singapore and it hard to find any accssories for this Laptop is there any online shop which send over here to South east Asia?????

The work around would be to use 3rd party hard drive imaging software, such as norton ghost or acronis true image. Make a clone of your older hard drive to CD or dvd. Then dump the clone to the new hard drive using one of the two software above.

This is what I shall be doing soon for a harddrive upgrade next month.

Or if you have a copy of winxp, install a fresh copy of it using the serial that came with the 8104

tried to use the serial from the laptop .. it will not work

Installed 60GB HD into my TM8104 (originally came with 100GB HD) and ran recovery from CDs. Worked like a charm. What exactly did not work in your case?

the system will not boot to windows even after using the recovery cd to plant the image into my hdd
