Anyone playing World of Warcraft on thier 9300?

Had my laptop for about a week and while playing WoW last night I couldn't help but notice some things I didn't like about the video.

1 - In Stranglethorn Vale the bushes and hillsides seem to vibrate or shimmer. Doesn't do this on my desktop.

2- The blacks in IF look kinda greyish making things hard to see. In Booty Bay, the inn with the bar that has muliple stairs that lead to the Gryphon drop. I couldn't see the first set of stairs at all.

3 - to much orange. Booty Bay buildings where screaming orange. It may be the Digital Vibrance I turned up but haven't had time to confirm yet.

Im assuming my video settings are all wrong. So what video settings are you using for your 9300 and WoW?

Thanks

I play WoW on my 9300 so I try and answer.

1 What drivers are you using? I've not had any problems like that with the stock dell drivers or the nvidia 71.89s I'm using now.

2 Again the missing stair sounds like a driver issue

3 Yes colours being very oversaturated like you're describing can be a result of overdoing digital vibrance, try toning it down a little and see if it helps

I have the LG WUXGA and use the following colour settings in nvidia control panel:
DV low
Bri 94
Con 93
Gamma 0.91

but I should point out that I'm also using a custom monitor colour profile made using my colorvision spyder so windows colours are not default (the profile doesn't seem to work for games)

Im using the recommended drivers 76.50 found on laptopvideo2go website

The stairs aren't missing. The video settings are just so wrong that I couldn't see the stairs in the dark part of the bar.

Actually, it does work in WoW if you tell it to use the desktop gamma on the video options. And once calibrated with the Spyder Pro, the colors just POP in WoW, it looks amazing.

I wish EQ2 had an option to use desktop gamma as well, it horks the colors something fierce.

I have the Samsung WUXGA, and play WoW alot. I wouldn't know about IF, since I am a filthy Undead Horde.

But, I have the following settings in my Nvidia control panel:

Digital Vibrance : Just a hair below the first notch, Low.
Brightness - 98
Contrast - 105
Gamma - .92

Inside the game, I have every slider cranked up as high as it will go, I do not have "Use Desktop Gamma" checked though, I never thought to try that, I will do that later and see what differences I see. I have never noticed any weird things in STV, and I don't think there's ever been places I couldn't see things in dark areas, like the stairs in BB.

If I'm using powerstrip's graphic arts profile how do I keep WoW from turning that off? Is that even possible? I hate the default colors.

Check your display resolution in order to make sure that the "Color Quality" is on Highest 32 bit vs. the medium 16 bit setting.
