Starting in August, I will be a freshman in college. Plain and simple: I will need a laptop.
I have been looking, almost sold on a number of laptops, only to be turned off by a few things. My current choice is a Dell 9300, with an additional 9 cell battery.
The number one thing I must have is battery life! My laptop must be able to run 3 hours minimum (I know, the 9300 might not make that..), and anything over 4/5 would be incredible.
Saying that, a close second is power. This computer should last me three years, and as such I am building it for what I think I will need three years from now.
While I will not be using this laptop for a gaming intensive pc (That's what desktops are for, guys), I will want to watch DVD's on it, and I would like it to have decent spec's. (the GO 6800 was impressive)
My laptop MUST have integraded bluetooth as an option. I am surprised to see that some laptops still do not offer it.
I was almost sold on an IBM T series, but I am not sure if the battery life they claim is feasible/realistic, and I am also not sure if the components will last the test of time. (the GPU is questionable)
Any suggestions? Keep in mind that the battery life is KEY. Price will be considered third to battery life and computing power, I have no problem paying a good amount of money for a solid laptop.
Afterthought: Laptop must be 15'' minimum, 17'' is a plus.
Thanks for any suggestions!
