It might help if you were to tell people what your needs are and how you plan to use the equipment.

Based on what I have seen of this sort of forum in general though, I think if you ask that question here, and on the Dell forum, you will get two opposite answers...

go with the T - it is an amazing little machine. I put another 512 of RAM and it is more than what I need. My friend has the 700 and I do not like the plastic feel to it nor the fan noise.

Yeah, Dell Inspiron series look cheap, just look at the casing and keyboard material. They are not bad machines though.

I gotta a 250 too. It's a great machine. I had the 360, butI think the 250 suits my daily and entertainment needs. It is easier tocarry and bat. life is awesome.

However, if you game, do audio or video stuff, then a second computer is probably a must have.

But for a truly portable machine, the 250 is definietly it. It was between this and the new Toshiba Libretto. The Libretto, though cool, is has IMHO a screen that is just too small and you can't type with twohands. The Keys are really tiny. Plus, the 250 hasthe dvdr built in and is not that much bigger. AWESOME choice and great price. I got mine at FRY's for 1999.00 and I thought I had a good deal.

I sold the sony for $1675-love it as a second computer but my 700 crosses the line as a working graphics/video editing computer and a lightweight travel one as well.
Oneday I will get the sony...until then, back to the low end dell forum.
Thanks to all who pm'ed and responded.
