No takers on this one???

I posted something similar and got 2 yesterday. Are the rest of the screens with sparkles/dust like the one I have?

They all sparkle !!!!!

They all have a similar effect. You cannot avoid it unless you go to Sony or Fujitsu.

Sorry. NO sparkles.....

Bit of light leak at the bottom (1 inch, maybe) but that's it.

Again, NOOOOOOO sparkles.

My LG doesn't have sparkles or light leakage. Much better than the Sony it replaced, even though the Viao was an old 14" P3

I got a Samsung WUXGA and I absolutely love it. After seeing LG or its equivalent at computer stores, I'm glad I got a Samsung. Even though I like gaming, it's a lot easier on the eyes. It has enough of the "aquarium" and clearness effect to be cool and helpful, but not too much that it gets annoying after the novelty wears off (or so I've heard.) I do have a sparkle effect if I look close, but to be honest, I wouldn't have even noticed it if people weren't making such a big deal about it.

Mine has light leakage, and "1" Dead pixel. although the pixel doesn't overly bug me... But if a few more come like 4+ i'm sending it to the depot!!

Sparkles I put a white background and took my 5 minutes to adjust my eyes to actually see it. So i'm not overly worried about them... As I can barely see it even with intense focusing

You realize that dead pixels cannot come over time(unless Ive missed something)

what exactly do sparkles look like?
Slightly grainy looking but no sparkles.
LG no sparkles. Slight light leakage and a small dark area near the clock on the taskbar.

You could always buy another brand of notebook.

No sparkles or light leakage.

All screens have the same effect. Some people are blessed enough that they can't notice it.

If you can't abide with the sparkle, get another notebook. They all have it. Some people don't notice it.

my 700m has no sparkles/dust

That is the argument I'm going to use with Dell to get it right. Why can an older laptop have a superior display. I believe the sparkles/dust is caused by multiple coating as mentioned in previous posts.

I have a bit of light leak (about 1 inch) at the bottom of the screen. This is only noticible in a dark room, with a blank screen. I'm at odds on looking to replace, or not.

That being said, don't you have a year warranty to your satisfaction? If there is "an improvement" to perfection with this model, why not wait till your year is (almost) up and _then_ replace?

Just a thought.....
