I think there is something to be said for amd 64 bit procesors to
(i love to bring something else into this debate and for all those reading what i write sometimes i argue just for the sake of being able to argue for me getting in a good arguement is kinda of enjoyable idk about you guys but every now and then arguing with my catholic friends on if there is a god of not gives me a kick and some of them to)
So basically the have double the register (allowing you to use all those 64 bit programs that come out*even if u can't use them now* but there is a beta OS out and you can always use linux which u can get compatible not only for 64 bit but ther eis a 128 bit register for linux as well
but the advantages of the athlon are the size of the L2 cache
BUT THE BIGGEST
is that they have the intergrated memory controller right on the cpu... This means it can run at the same speed the CPU is running out which is blazing fast. This mean you have alot less wait time. Just a thought...I am just dipping into the amd 64's...
Thats one reason why the amd 64 fx-55 is so fast even with the 32 bit programs...
Any thoughts?
Also i don't know if amd's require differnt mobo's cause i'm kinda new to all this computer hardware stuff... but wouldn't they because the north bridge system and south bridge is kinda just one thing in amd mobos because the actual cpu has the stuff and not the mobo?

its wicked fast in games, but unfortunately, the biggest advantage of the A64 rigs become their biggest disadvantage. You never know what RAM your mem controller will like, if you go through many RAM sticks like me always looking for the highest performer, you'll come across sticks that are perfectly stable in one system, and totally unstable in an other (mind you same BIOS, and mobo rev.). The other flaw would be reliably running over 1GB of memory without killing performance, don't even think about running 1T with anything over 2x512, you'll be lucky if you don't have to use dividers, and forget about running 4 sticks of RAM in a desktop system, that's impossible, it'll kill your stability. Lets not even mention OCing >_>. Basically.. if you need more than 1GB of RAM.. look at Intel, if you want the best gaming performance.. AMD owns
