adapter to replace dvd/cd drive with hard drive?

is there a way to replace the optical drive of a laptop with a hard drive? perhaps some sort of adapter that's the same size as a laptop cd/dvd drive, but let's you put in a hdd?

I think it depends on what kind of notebook you have whether there is an adapter available. I think they are available for most Asus.

Yep, it's a per-notebook thing. If your notebook supports it, buy the adapter from the manufacturer. If not, you're out of luck and will have to either go external or get a bigger drive.
