Inspiron 9300 vs. Inspiron 6000

Thread Starter
I am trying to decide between the Dell Inspiron 9300 and the Inspiron 6000D. I do light to moderate gaming, like to watch the occasional movie, but would mainly be using it for Access, Coding (VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET), and other school related activities. I would like to have enough battery life that I could watch a full length feature film, plus some. I have a $250 gift certificate to Dell, so I want to keep it a Dell, plus the fact that there is the $750 off right now! Is there any sense in waiting? Any new technologies coming around the corner for the mobile market? I appreciate all your suggestions!

For either laptop I will be replacing the standard memory with a 1GB Stick of DDR2-533 for $109.00 and the hard drive with an 80GB 5400RPM Hitachi for $118.00. I will also be replacing the operating system with Windows XP Professional w/Service Pack 2.

Thanks!

it sounds like you don't need the 9300's high power graphics card. unless you are a big gamer, the x300 is fine. i got the 6000. i just think 17 inch screens are too big if you plan on being even remotely mobile

note the battery llife on the geforce video card is bad compared to the 6K

also, save your money and avoid the carbon fiber quicksnap... it's really not very exciting... just a dull black cover with some grey. I have plenty of carbon fiber stuff and this is the worst looking knock off I've seen. I took it off the day I got mine.
