actually asus are one of the best, being the best motherboard manufacturers they have great quality products, im not trying to be biased here, they aren't perfect, no one is, abit produces great mobos too but, they don't offer laptops of any sort.
asus is also the apple's powerbook manufacturer, as well as ipods and such. anywhoooo they also have that 2 year global warranty with their laptops am i correct?
to 1cent "i was looking into a laptop.. and i came across a toshiba satilite m40 (sonoma, geforce 6600go)"
toshibas are nice and they have great lcds, but theres one thing that made me turn away from it. im not sure if this applies to all laptops because i've only had experience with one of their laptops, my friends which i don't remember the model number but it has a p4 3.0, 9700 64mb, 80 gig hdd.
anyways when he wanted me to reformat his laptop, i did it with no problems, however the drivers for his laptop were not posted on toshiba's website, they were also in different formats? i couldn't firgure out how to do it, and so we had to go back to the recovery disk which installs all the other stuff that we didn't want in the first place, we never got what kind of programs to install.
again im not sure if this applies to all their laptops? but if this does not happen with all of them or im am wrong, toshiba is still really a great brand, it just gave me a bad first impression. also the z71v is cheaper than the m40 in my area
