PROBLEM NEED HELP ---please is there a way out of this mess?

Hello , i seem to have a problem ...
i have an HP Pavilion zd8150
with 1 gb ram
and when im trying to install the latest catalist drivers , this is what i get...

"unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration, make sure you have the required harware or software"


i found some other ati drivers on :
http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/
http://www.omegadrivers.net/

and im wandering if nayone had encountered any problems with this card on 3d applications.

also when i try to play a 3d game i usually get the vpu crash (restarts the video graphics card or somthing) ,
it is very annoying considering i have paid a shit load of money for this mechine and i cant seem to get one days work done with it without it crashing on me .

please is there a way out of this mess?

You see this is why i never update my drivers!

Just go download the drivers from the HP website, uninstall your old stuff that didnt work, and put the new HP ones on...

thats exatly what i did in the first place , thats why im looking
for better drivers...
they just dont seem to be right to me.

besides isnt weird i cant install the ati original catalist?

im wondering if it possible to change from the ati to nvidia on this hardware HP....

Use your restore CD and set everything back to default and leave it alone. The driver updates probably won't do anything more unless you have a problem to start with.

I thought you cannot directly install Catalyst unless you modify the drivers first, or download the modded drivers. They will not install directly on a laptop..

The newest cat drivers work now, I have an ati 200m and had the same problem. It seems that they have updated the drivers and they now support some of the newer laptop gpu's. I currently have the omega drivers installed, so those work too; they made about a 5 fps boost in some games, not much, but when a game is borderline playable, 5 fps is a lot!

Oh yeah, I have a Compaq Presario V2405: sempron 3000+, ati xpress 200m

I use a program DHmodtool3.exe to fix that. I got the latest 5.13 drivers on my Compaq v4000t. When u unzip the ATI install tool, it puts everything in C:\ATI after its unzipped u can run that DHmodtool and change it so it supports Mobility. Then run setup from C:\ATI and it will work fine.
