Nice find, works for me as well. Clocked it to 500/1200 and ran CSS at 1920x1200 full details, trilinear filtering and 8xAF and got 86 fps.

I'm not really concerned about 3dmark. As long as my gaming performance goes up then I'm happy - since the OC's are stable with CSS everytime that makes me thrilled since thats the game I mainly play right now. I just tested it with Desert Combat and it worked fine as well. We should try to figure out what is different in these drivers compared to say 76.50 so we can keep these changes as new drivers come out. Hopefully nvidia will release an updated nvflash soon so we can just unlock our cards.

This makes me wonder if the card is really locked.... since only a particular driver will let us OC.

Has anyone else tried this?

All I know is IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! Sucks that you have to minimize the game and re test the OC in nvidia properties box. MAN 60 FPS in WoW @ 1900 X 1200 everything MAX and thats is @ ironfrordge

You know what is funny, even if the card bios weren't locked I wouldn't OC. I haven't actually needed too. But it's the fact that it is locked that makes me mad.

Hello,

I try it too with the 71.89, and i have and important thing for you when i installed the 71.89 on my first windows boot i was able to manually overclock the 6800 ultra and the frequencies doesn't change in 3dmark05 !!!!
i'm sure because of the frames were much higher by 34 direct on the first test and i abroted with escape a few times and rivatuner monitiring save the same frequencies , i put 513/1180 and on the second test of 3D mark the computer reboot, i always has this problems when frequencies to high from autooverclock or bios flash and then when i try 3Dmark frequencies goes to 450/1064.

What does the frequencies keeping the overclock on my first boot??
I hope i help you with this information.

Sorry for mybad english
John
