Updating Drivers for 6800go?

Thread Starter
Whenever I try updating the drivers on my i9300, it says 'could not find compatible drivers' and all that jazz. Where can I find drivers that work, or how can I get the one from nvidia.com to install?
Thanks!

These drivers are modified to work on laptops! Thats why you get the error above.

I still get the same error. "Setup could not find drivers for your current hardware" Its really ticking me off, because my computer keeps bluescreening and it tells me its because of the graphics driver...

you guys have to get the .inf file that goes with the 76.5 driver.

I've tried it. Downloaded the 7650 folder and its corresponding nfo file from laptopvideo2go. Opened the folder, deleted the zipped folder that contains the .inf file put in the modded inf file and it still doesn't work. When I click on the setup file in the 7650 folder but it tells me thet it can't find a suitable driver. I've tried it with and without having removed the existing Nvidia driver and I've tried it through device manager. What am I doing wrong?
Someone please help, I'm getting jerky DVD playback and it's driving me mad!!!!

Tried it, and doesn't seem to work - hence my post to see where I'm going wrong!

hey just to report i followed the link carefully and managed to boost my 3dmark05 score from 2945 stock to 3230! I'm not planning on altering the core and mem speeds or anything else that might void my warranty but just wanted to see whether i could increase the performance with a driver alteration... so thanks for that odious!

This helped me greatly. I have been wondering how to use the updated drivers, but I never knew how to install them.

Thanks, odious
Much appreciated

are these 76.50 drivers widely accepted as the most stable best ones available at the minute or are there others? i installed the omega drivers and actually got a slower 3dmark05 result of 2800 from 2954 stock

Dell releases the stable driver updates don't they? so wait until then and they make it simple for you.

I DID IT !!!!
The way it worked for me is to replace just the .inf file in the zipped folder with the modded .inf file and the I ran its own set up without going into Device Manager update (which didn't work for me).

Unfortunately this hasn't solved as I had hoped my DVD playback problem. But anyway it was good fun trying!

I'm curious but what benefits outside of gaming does an updated driver give? Is over-clocking worth doing?

Does the increased performance have any detrimental effects on any of the other computer functions or is everything better?
