so based upon your reasoning, everyone here on this board, or in "real life" for that matter who doesn't agree that the term "gay" can be used freely and openly in a derogatory manner is in actuality homosexual themselves... |
Not really sure how you get that out of anything I stated, but O.k- I'm game to go head to head with ya. (I mean, are you really confused about that, or are you trying in desperation to invalidate my point about you being, in effect, "
guilty" of what you were whining about in the first place? (
It's alright, I've got all day, really.

heck, i wasn't giving "kudos" to the original poster and backing down from my position..i wasnt even trying to pick an "online fight", like you seem to be doing here...i was simply pointing out to him that a better word could have been used, just like all the other posters on this board..
Mmmmm-Okay. Where's Madden with his crayon? Shall we go visit the replay? (Dude,
just how important is it that no one here teaches YOU something about yourself?)

heck, if i was "gay" in the real sense of the word myself, then why not just come out and admit it here on this board, it'll make my case stronger wouldn't it? I have nothing to hide, and you reading too deep into my responses is classic....
"Classic" of
what? Go easy, stlee -Nobody thinks you're gay; it's o.k. If you were gay "
in the real sense of the word", then you would just be
really happy, right?

and by the way...i'm not defending the "gay" community just solely to defend it..i'm defending all minorities and words used to describe certain people, either based on nationality, race, sex, age, or any physical/external characteristic. I have found that too often in our society people are insensitive to other people based on their physical characteristics that they themselves have no control over.....
Well alright. I was'nt thinking you were associated with any homosexual rights stuff. Relax!
I just figured you were pointing out someone's insensitivity because it was an easy way to make yourself appear and feel compassionate and mature. (
Wanna wager a bet on how fast I can turn that around?
-Just askin, that's all.)
Little did I know you were actually going to tie yourself up to this thread and go on a hunger strike for the betterment of
all of humanity!

i mean, would you still call an african american person a you know what in public? a caucasion person a ________? an asian person a _____? you get my reasoning, now analyze that, or don't..i don't really care...
The guy called a computer operating system "
gay"; he didn't drag someone behind a truck for five miles. If you had left this alone after you initially made your point instead of driving the nail even further through the palm of martyrdom,

and not tried to rally support for "Captian Morality, Crusader against Minority Impropriety", then it would've been completely appropriate. But you decidedly made an effort to jack this thread, "overdoing" the "Be nice! crap to the point where it negated what you
said you were doing in the first place...
advising someone that the adjective "gay" used in a derogatory manner is undoubtably going to be found offensive by some. (Not you, though. 'Cause you're not gay. You seemed equally concerned with making sure we all know that.

)
Lookit, there's a lot of nasty shit in the world, but if you're gonna wave your finger at somebody

then at least realize that "less" is "more" for
at least two reasons...Nobody wants to keep hearing about it and they will grow desensitized to
the problem just as much as they've grown tolerant of the improprieties; and the more you go on about it, the more hypocrisy seeps out of you like a fart in church, because we're ALL guilty of it to an extent!
Next time you politely wave your finger, remind yourself that you're not supposed to be doing that for your own benefit, and try harder not to bask in the glow of your own humanity.
