Graphics are laggy when using battery

My friend has the same laptop I have, an Inspiron 9300 with a Geforce 6800go, and when on battery mode he is able to play games at the same graphic quality and speed as if he is plugged in (70+ fps at all times). Mine, however, shoots way down to 30 fps in Counter-Strike Source and has a slow-motion effect in Unreal Tournament. How can I stop the graphics card from automatically slowing itself down while using the battery? It works fine when plugged in.

Powermizer, perhaps?

I turned it to Maximum performance and it still gave me the slow motion effect in Unreal Tournament.

I'll try CS: Source with it.

Do you guys have different connections when unplugged? (ie; he uses ethernet and you use wireless?) Probably not a factor since you didnt mention it, but just wondering.

I dunno if the "drivers" would be that much of a difference!? Ive heard that "powermizer" has issues with some modded Nvidia drivers.Maybe someone will enlighten us to that question.

Try using RMClock to force the CPU to the maximum multiplier.
