Too bad you had to sell it.

Tell us how many scammers you got from posting it on ebay. You may get several scammers asking you to ship it over to Nigeria or some other foreign countries. Just watch out for those scammers and good luck with your auction.

Haven't gotten that yet...why would Nigerians want my laptop?

Any overseas shipping that want to make payment's via Cashiers Check, Western Union, and/or Money Order Usually are scammers and they typically use a template and just insert your Item's Name.

iNsAnEcLoWn, im interested, is there anyway you could take some more pictures, IE: I would like to see a picture on a black screen to check for excess light leakage.

more pics on ebay?? I can email you some more pics, email me first and be specific on what you want...thanks

I'm not so sure anymore, further research has led me to believe that the whole m680 series is seriously flawed. I've seldom found anything good about them when compared to the enormous amounts of complaints about screens flickering, hinges cracking etc.

Can you post the URL link to where you read about the m680 model that has screens flickering and hinges cracking?

Screens flickering, hinges cracking? Are you sure you're not talking about the eMachines? Careful what you say. I haven't heard or read any of that with the M680. Maybe a touch of light leakage at the bottom of Vancomycin's screen but he said that it's not really noticable anymore. Everyone else has pretty much given it 2 thumbs up. You're saying there's these huge accross the board problems and flaws? I'd like to see them. Please provide links to all these problems.

Check the pictures section of gateway/emachines the gateway 680 is the exact same thing as the emachines but with a different case. Sounds like people have nothing but problems with them to me. If I'm wrong about gateway+emachines please enlighten me.

Not hardly, they're not even made by the same people. The M680 is made by Quanta, not Arima.

The M520 is the same case as the eMachines M68xx's, not the M680. only the Shadow case exhibits that problem on any sort of semi-consistent basis. and it would apply to everyone that uses that case: voodoo, targus, etc, not just gateway/emachines

Thanks for clarifying, I thought they were the same thing with a different logo.

The end of that laptop (with the broken hinges) is totally different than the m680. That other laptop hinges reside at the end corners while the m680's hinges are not at the edges at all, therefore, less prone to cracks.

Hi. I am the one that bought the laptop on ebay. When I receive it, I will let you know and then probably write a review on this site about it. Thanks for everything. I can't wait until I get it in my hands.

I've spent the better part of an hour talking with a Gateway Rep today, and I asked why they didn't have any P4 notebooks and he mentioned that the M520's (and whatever their EMachines and retail store counterparts are) had problems w/ hinges cracking. He said the M320's were having issues too. (Which would explain why the 520's are no longer around and he said the 320's are on their way out (M325 should be replacing it soon).
