Asus Z63a

I'm pretty set on buying an Asus Z63a in the next week. Is there anything I should know about it that may cause me to reconsider? From what I've read on this website and others Asus appears to be a reputable brand and make a quality product.

Also, if anyone who already owns one could post pictures with something like a coke can next to it so i can get a size comparison, that'd be great. Yeah, I've seen the dimensions online, but I'd like to see picture with something next to it.

Here it is

Thanks for everything

I purchased one from ISTNC as well, and it shipped out today. I don't believe ISTNC, or anybody else, has shipped anything before Friday, or possibly even today, so nobody would have one yet. ProPortable has a picture of a guy holding one that might help you out.

As for the negatives - the only real negative of the W3V has been heat issues . I am hoping this is resolved with the Z63A integrated graphics, which would cool it down a bit.

Anyway, if you could hold off a week, I bet some would have the notebook in their hands and would love to comment. Or, I doubt you'd go wrong in buying one now (since I obviously did )

Asus makes the best looking laptops...

get a 5400rpm HD... maybe a 1.73ghz.. soo it is cooler.. obviously.. without a dedicated GPU. it will be cooler than the w3v..
that thing sure looks nice

wow i didn't realize this laptop just came out. that's pretty sweet. for anyone else who is interested, here is the pic of the guy holding a z63a.

nemesys, i'd love to see the pics of the w3v.

this laptop will be my college laptop in the fall, and i want it to portable (to take home and to the library and maybe class) but at the same time i don't want it too be too small, as it will be my computer for everything. im starting to think that won't be an issue, but has anyone else had any problems with notebooks being too small? anyway, the more i hear, the more this one sounds perfect.

acctualy the laptop that the guy holding is w3a or w3v ....

i will post pic's later on today , about the size ... i was affreid it will be too small also , but after using it for 3 weeks , i think its perfect , not to big and not to small , considering that its widescreen ... for me its perfect , you will see the compression in the pic's today ..

You guys know if there's a non-glossy LCD verion of the w3 or the z63?

Well, you might want to wait....

Fujitsu will be release the updated S series mid June, so just about a week or two away. The S7020 will be 4.3 pounds w/ optical drive, have the new sonama chipset with integrated GMA900 graphics, an SXGA+ non-glossy screen, bluetooth and wifi, firewire, express card, HD audio, and other cool stuff.

The data sheet is here:
http://www.tme.co.uk/documents/FSCDa...book_s7020.pdf

and a preview here:
http://www.trustedreviews.com/articl...e=2708&head=80

So compared to the Z63a, it has a non-glossy non-widescreen screen (many people still preffer this) at a higher resolution, lighter, bluetooth, SATA HDs. They both have integrated graphics and are top quality... so the choice is yours!

can anyone post any pictures of their z63a yet?

I recieved mine on Saturday, and it is beautiful! It is identical to the W3A (seen on the Asus global site). Actually, I think it is better looking in real life.

What type of views are you looking for? The pic from ProPortable is a W3V, so the color and Aluminum casing is different (only carbon fiber on the Z63A), but the size and profile are the same.

I'll be purchasing a Z63a in the upcoming days from ISTNC. It will have a 2.0 GHz Pentium M, 1 GB of RAM, 100 GB 5400 RPM hard drive, and the DVD burner. I'll be sure to post a review and pictures whenever I receive it.

Not sure how to post pics. I'll check it out and do so if it is relatively easy.
