help me decide???

okay here is the situation.....im in a dilemma as to what lappy to choose. im a university student, and i want a good solid system that will serve me well for the next ~3years. i dont need extreme gaming power but i do occasionally pop in a game or two. and i would like to play BF2 when it hits and a couple of games that are on the horizons. i have a budget of about $3400 canadian plus some for accessories like an external soundcard and a good mouse and carry case.

so my options as i see them:

Dell 9300 (www.dell.ca)
Pros:
-6800go
-17inch glossy screen
-not too expensive for alot of performance
-3 year warranty with onsite and accidental damage protection
-decent battery life but nothign unbelieveable
Cons:
-screens are notorious for issues
-not so sure about dells build quality
-not really high resolution screen

LG LW70
Pros:
-lighter
-glossy high resolution 17inch screen
-very solid build from what i have seen
-good battery life
Cons
-new manufacturer north america so unsure of warranty and its only 1 year
-x600 128mb graphics card (not sure if its enough)

Sager 3880 (just go to pctorque)
Pros:
-powerful and light enough i think
-nvidia 6600go graphics (not sure if its enough)
-almost fully loaded for my budget
-really good battery life
Cons:
-not sure of sager warranty in canada,
-not sure about pctorque extended warranty in canada

Toshiba Tecra S2 (www.toshiba.ca)
Pros:
-reasonably powerful for price
-solid and stable
-good warranty free 3 year accidental damage protection offered at the moment
-good battery life
Cons:
-lower resolution screen
-128mb x600 (again is it enough)
-no ddr2 support

Alienware Area 51m 5500 (used but in great shape, recently discontinued)
Pros:
-good laptop with good record
-solid and great style
-generally nice and i could get a good price with enough to buy tons of options
Cons:
-lack of support from Alienware
-ati 9700 graphics not sure if it will be enough, but an upgrade could be coming
-desktop processor
-lower battery life

so what should i do....i love the custom look of the alienware and i have always wanted one, but likewise i can see the benifits of the other machines i listed. i just found the sager tonight and it is really looking like it may be a great choice for me, but they all have their benifits. so since i am at kinda a deadlock lets hear what you have to say here people.....can you please help me solve my dilemma.

i was hoping for some more opinions, but so far the sager seems to be in the lead.... maybe some of the dell guys could say why i should not get the others and should get a dell cause i was awful close at one time to doing that, lets see some convincing arguements for some of the options. im so conflicted as to what to get and i just am not sure what will win out, so lets see if you guys cna make it any better.

With Dell I think it's a crapshoot, you might get good service then again you might not, Toshiba is nice but I have seen a few fall apart in no time. Alienware is ok but I think your paying alot for a name on that one, but some will swear by their AW. I would probably go for the Sager.
In the end ofcourse it's up to you to pull the trigger.

Ok so sager 3880 has only 64 megs of Graphic card I'm sure I won't be enough , sager 9880(or something like that) its 17in and weights 12 punds !!!!! I don't think that you want such a monster. Toshiba is crap generally . If you are considering i9300 that would be best choice , the has 6800 kicks ass(that's what I heard) but it's still 17 in (i mean big) but weights only 7.8 punds so much less that sager. Why do not consider Asus Z71V ??? Its 15.4 inch laptop , weights only 6.5 pounds and it has Geforce 6600 go with 128mb dedicated memory. It can handle Half Life in medium/high settings (with AA 2x ) , and I'm sure it will handle BT2 nicely. Look over the forum > http://notebookforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=150 < - main forum for asus . And 2 really good reviews (1. http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=76560 ) and (2. http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=74877 ) I am buying a laptop for college right now too and I was considering i9300 mainly because geforce 6800 go but I'm going for Asus Z71V because of portability(don't want to carry 17inch laptop everywere), stays cool, decent Graphic card , overall good performance . Make a good choice ! Take care .

Wait till the 15th and get a Ferrari 4k or something else with a turion, these will be the best laptops out until just before the holidays most likely.

PS. That LG is insanely priced, you can get over twice the laptop in a fully loaded RAID 1 Sager 9880 for that price.

ummm the 3880 has a 128mb 6600 as well....i am not sure about the asus, and i cant find a place in canada where i can buy one already built and not have to build it myself. i do normally build my desktops but i dont have the time to spend building a laptop myself. if i could find a plce to buy one pre-built i would definately have it on my list as well.

the ferrari looks nice and i will have to concider that as well, but i am worried about acers rep they have not got such a great one around where i am...has their build quality improved recently cause that is what was keeping the 8104 off my list, i was really concerned about their quality.

thanks for the suggestions it is only making this whole process alot harder, but keep them coming, i am finding out alot as i go and it is really helpful to see what you guys think would suit me best.
