Well, I did it! I took the plunge and ordered my T43 last night!
What's really cool is that I got a very cooperative Lenovo rep who was willing to give me the 75U for $2190, which at that time was the sale price for the 72U. I guess it depends on who you talk to-- I spoke with another rep last week who flatly refused to do that deal, even though the two machines are identical in every way except for the wireless card.
Looks like I just got in under the wire too. I checked today, and the 72U is no longer on sale. Now, it's only listing the web price of $2519. few!
This is the first time I've made a purchase through Lenovo/IBM and I must say their purchasing process could use some streamlining. There are so many models within each series that as a first time buyer, my head was spinning. What's worse is that except for that tabook.pdf, there doesn't appear to be any way to obtain a master list of what's available. Their web site has a "view all models' link which is obviously misnamed as it doesn't show all models. then even after I figured out that I wanted the 72 or 75U, preferably the 75U, I couldn't buy the 75U online, and I had to call several times before I could even get it at a reasonable price. Oh well, the dealing's done at any rate.
