Hi, I am now the proud owner of an XPS 2 ! However, I am wondering, I can connect to the interenet wirelessy (as I am now) but am us ing the "default" wireless network found by Windows. I recevied a warning, is this network safe for me to use>\? (still getting used to the new keyboard)!

It should be safe. If you don't know who's network it is they can possibly see what you are doing on your comp and have the ability to kick you off their connection. If you are hooked up to wireless at a school than IMO you have nothing to worry about.

You can piggyback off of someone's wireless. It should not be a problem unless they find out. If they do, they should secure their network.

From my apartment there are 4 unsecured networks in range, mine is the only one that is secured and not broadcasting SSID.

I like that for improving my odds of safety.

In a word, yes. Easily, if they know how.
