i say get avast antivirus, and zone alarm for firewall, spybot search and destroy, Photoshop 7, Firefox 1.0.4, Nero burning Rom, bit comet (for torrent downloads), star downloader (for nomal downloads), as well as dvdshrink, the usual office applications, win RAR, acid xpress (this is a pretty hardcore program), vegas video (again prety hardcore).

there are other programs that are available and really nice especially for video editing and 3d animation but it depends on your needs and your skill level. acid express and vegas video are pretty hardcore and the will do alot in terms of sound and video editing....for 3d your going to have to ask someone other than me.

Well, I would make sure he has the some good legal programs, dude, since installing his LEGALLY purchased software on YOUR PC is a violation of most software agreements...You'll need a good lawyer if one happens to see your post and report you...

NOT a good idea to post something like this on a public board, dude....

Just get Linux man yeah

that is something i totally forgot....make sure you keep your software legally purchased. dont use illegal software it will only lead to trouble.

i have used it 2wice and it seems to be doing a pretty decent job. It said that i needed "critical defragmentation" and even gave me a chart and graph showing how much my hd speed and performance would increase (37% is what it said). We i let it run and it does seem a little bit faster, but it could just be placebo effect. But it did free up some space, on my 80 gig drive i went from 8% free to 15% free.

does this really happen??? do people surf computer forums looking for people to report? well if i was one of these people, i would not be looking here, there are plenty of forums out there devoted to JUST bittorrent and the like. Seems to me you could bust a lot more people there

thanks for the info...gonna try to find a demo of it, so i can use it "legally" of course...

Diskkeeper is the best aftermarket defragger out there; lots of experts say that the Windows defrag tool works just as well, and its free...If you want to use the Windows tool, ALWAYS use it in safe mode if you want a more thorough defragg..

And YES, people do get busted on all sorts of boards when they brag and promote the illegal copying/use of software. Remember, this is NOT an invite only board, so ANYONE, including law enforcement folks, could stop by here, either by design or by accident, so as always, better to be safe than sorry...

Watch out with the Licensed Software...... CS has to "activated" each time you install it............. And so does the Microsoft Business Software and others too......... I wouldnt LET somebody put licensed Software on my machine for "Free" because it may end up proving to be very "Costly".........
