confused on driver version for 9860

http://w3serv.realtek.com.tw/downloa...&Software=True

The Sager driver download site shows a 5/26/2005 driver update for the Realtek driver. It is version 5.10.0.5037.

However device manager shows a driver date of 11/29/2004.

The Realtek site above shows a driver version dated 6/2/2005 but with a version number of A3.73.

I'm confused ... which would y'all recommend loading?

Not sure about the answer to your question, but I'm wondering why A3.73 is three megs larget than A3.72. The changelog doesn't help much. Why the big change?

Which Audio Driver to use

Can anyone tell me what the difference in these 2 drivers are and which to use on my 9860?

The 2 i have seen listed are:

Realtek HD Audio Codec R1.21
Realtek Audio Driver A3.73

I am not an expert (and not near my laptop), but if my memory serves me correctly, this set of drivers (the 3.7x) are for the 8790 laptops and the 1.xx drivers are for the 9860. I may not be 100% on this, but I do remember a major difference from my last system and this system.

Will see if someone with more info can chime in. I will try to remember to doublecheck mine when I get home.

Thanks.

Actually its not always the megs that do the fixing. A 10kb file(to registry) could make a difference(0 or 1). ..U get the point
