Game speed help

I have an XPS2, and upped my ram to a gig so things worked smoother. Half Life 2 works wonderfully, but Doom 3 and SC Chaos Theory are slow and jerky. I use the Dell drivers 72.01, I have tried the moddied 76.50 drivers, but everyonce in a while the video freaks out. I thought the XPS2 was able to handle these games with ease, PLEASE feel free to post ideas.

use a different driver as the dell drivers are crap. try the official 71.89s with a modified INF. I've also heard that the 76.50 drivers are pretty good.
