9300 or XPS2

Thread Starter
I need a lappie that will look professional in meetings but with really super graphics and sound. Opinions please as to which one you would choose.

For those 9300 users, are there any features you wish you had other than the uber graphics card? How does it run high end apps and games? Thanks.

the 9300 is beautiful, especially for buisness, the video card on it is just fine, I can play doom3 and farcry and CS:S at 1440x900 and full everything at 90 FPS. and I get 4220 in 3dmark05, also I only have the 740 processor. So in conclusion I would choose the i9300 over the iXPS2 anyday, its lighter, easier to hold, more professional looking, CHEAPER, and I can do anything I want on it at full graphics and everything.

But I did overclock my graphics card though, so that could have added alot to my performance.

There are no other features that are worthwhile for my needs on the XPS2. I got everything I need with my 9300.

really why don't you play at 1920x1200, or do you only have the WXGA monitor? If so then ok.

yea, I had a specific amount to spend, and I made a silly desicsion to get a gig of ram instead of the WUXGA monitor, so I only got the WXGA. BUT I still love it.

lol I got both. How much did you have to spend? I had a maximum of $1600 including shipping and tax, I got my new i9300 thats coming Monday for $1590.98. Pretty good deal if I say so myself.

That was silly, I went for bare bones 256MB on the RAM because Dell overcharges on it. $250 and 4 minutes later I have 2GB from Newegg.

Yeah, but the one thing that REALLY stopped me from getting the UXGA screen was that I heard of all the problems on it, AND I really didnt care for the higher resolutions.

Also I got a deal from Dukefruckem I got a

Pentium M 740, Nvidia 6800go NV42, 1GB of RAM, 40GB HDD (gonna upgrade to 100GB 7200RPM once out) XGA screen, CD-RW/DVD combo and 6-cell battery all for $1280 shipped.

I am VERY happy with it so far, the screen is marvelous after the colors been tweaked to my liking, and my video card overclocks alot farther than most peoples.
