emachines doesnt sell notebooks anymore?

Ive been away from this site for a while and while browsing, i decided to see what emachines was selling for their latest laptops and noticed they dont even offer them anymore on their site. What happened? Had Gateway taken over their notebook sales?

(i did a search for this topic but didnt find anything).

I have the emachines 3 year warranty..is that still good?

My screen flickers constantly now and needs to be replaced, along with the hinges which are now both cracked.

Your warantee is still good. Just contact eMachines and have them fix it.

But, alas, yes, it looks like gateway basically has been gutting the eMachines line and selling everything under the Gateway name. I'm SO pissed that Gateway bought eMachines out as eMachines was actually starting to get really good and was making large gains against the other big guys.

Oh well...

Was this something that happened recently? Is there another thread discussing this? Im surprised if I am the only one that has brought this up, but as much as I search, I can't find any other topics related to this.

The combined company is run by emachines management, mostly sells emachines products, and just uses the Gateway name.

I know of the merger, but I'm just upset now that gateway doesnt sell the athlon64's. Or do they?

I didnt see any on their site.

(i wasnt looking too hard though).

They are only sold retail (as are/were emachines). But, you can find the 7426 on the Gateway webpage at: http://www.gateway.com/home/products...t_7426gx.shtml or at Best Buy at: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1109938021195

Gateway Direct doesn't sell the athlon 64's, or any AMD for that matter. Only the Retail side (eMachines/Gateway that you'll find in stores)
