external for main monitor

hey, ive been trying to make it so i can use my crt screen instead of my laptop screen, but how do u do this? i dont want to make it use both screens as a display

Try your fn key + f6
You wont be able to disable the lcd this way, but you will be able to use the crt as your main monitor.

I just found this out. Click on the Advanced buttom on the Display applet. Go to the Displays tab. It has Monitor, Panel and TV buttons. Under them, there are numbered buttons. They represent which is the primary display. Click on 1 under the Moitor. The panel automatically goes to 2. Click apply to apply the setings.

Sorry. I misread. I thought that you wanted to use your CRT as your main monitor. Zachquiel's solution is what you are looking for.

k since we're on the monitor subject... have we all concluded that the 5660 and 8886 can only have 1 other monitor? so we'd have the crt and the lcd? is it possible to put a splitter on the video jack and get 2 monitors wih seperate desktop space? i thot there was sumthin like this for the old All in Wonder Radeon cards....maybe not...i dunno. k well im pretty sure its only those two displays but it would be SOO awesome if it were 3

on my computer i have an icon at the bottom right where i can goto the display settings. in the display settings under

display settings -> settings

I have to screens. if you have two like mine, you can click the second one and there is an option "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor."

I hope this is what your looking for.

BTW I might have upgraded my radeon 9000 software. if you odn't have the second monitor on the screenyou might want to download the latest drivers and reinstall.

this is also windows xp on a sager 8886
