Hardware "lag" in i9300...am I the only one?

Hey, all. I've been pretty psyched w/ my i9300, had it about 2 months now, and I have noticed recently one strange thing that kills it for me.

Maybe I'm the only one, but after playing a game like farcry and the like, I quit into the main desktop. I could double-click on anything and it would show the progress curser for a moment and nothing would happen. At this point I ctrl-alt-delete to the taskmanager, which also does not come up...either... then after like a minute or two, it all just launches at the same time.

I know it sounds wierd but I've been trying to figure this out for a while. I love the i9300, but what the hell is this "lag"?

Doesn't happen to me. Do you still have all the Dell bloatware or did you format the system after you received it?

Maybe you need to defrag.

Mine does not do it either. Try the those advised in the above post.

You answered your own question probably. Who knows what you got from a P2P program. Boot in safemode, do a full virus and spyware scan on your system. Odds are you might have to just format to get the performance you once enjoyed.

One thing you may want to try. Reinstall video card drivers. I was having a similar problem when I would play Guild Wars. I had 76.50 drivers loaded, I reinstalled 76.45 over them and it seemed to fix the problem.

I had this with all my laptops. It is normal. But not 2 minutes. More like 20 seconds.

I get this too, I put it down to a massive amount of virtual memory used by Farcry that needs to be freed back up. Due to having a slower disk and plenty of other tasks going on I think it just gets confused. I'm banking on more memory solving the problem.

Happens to me too, whenever i come out of a game it takes a while to open up anything else for a couple of seconds. I had a 3.2g 9100 before this and no such problem and so just thought it was natural for my 9300 which uses speedstep to do this?

You may have used a spyware remover that didn't completely get rid of the spyware entries, which makes windows have lots of issues.

P2P other than BitTorrent is risky. You got burnt. Good job.
